We are watching DOGE and checking the veracity of their claims and the impact of their actions. We're just getting started. Stay tuned.
We completed a preliminary Analysis of doge.gov
" Last updated March 5th, 2025. This will initially be updated weekly; over time, the website will improve and the updates will converge to real-time. "
t=They have been claiming that soon the updates will converge real time.
It looks like the updates are coming more consistently. However, what is posted has come under scrutiny.
We've analyzed the posts and a spreadsheet using data downloaded directly from doge.gov to provide you with insights.
They are reporting $105B of savings from a combination of asset sales, contract/lease cancellations and renegotiations, fraud and improper payment deletion, grant cancellations, interest savings, programmatic changes, regulatory savings, and workforce reductions.
Based on the "receipts": WeThe total reported DOGE savings reported on receipts is of $30.2 billion significantly under $105bn.
Many of the "receipts" are questionable as they may have already been paid or terminated before Doge. We also don't know the basis for the cancellations, although if there are any contracts with the words Diversity, Equity, Inclusion or any word staring with trans they, are highly likely to make this list.
"Organized and hosted by two concerned citizens who invited fellow Kansans to join them in presenting their own scripted comments addressed to Senator Jerry Moran, this video originated as a Zoom gathering live-streamed to YouTube. The concerns expressed relate to the lack of congressional oversight of the massive cuts to federal programs and work force reductions being implemented by the Trump Administration through Elon Musk and the so-called Department of Government Efficiency.
Fun Fact: Senator Moran did not attend.
"These actions are not compatible with the mission we joined the United States Digital Service to carry out: to deliver better services to the American people through technology and design," reads the letter, addressed to Susie Wiles, White House chief of staff.
"We will not use our skills as technologists to compromise core government systems, jeopardize Americans’ sensitive data, or dismantle critical public services. We will not lend our expertise to carry out or legitimize DOGE’s actions."

" The @USGSA sold the old Webster School building in DC for $4,138,000. The building was acquired via condemnation in 2003, remained empty and boarded up ever since, and accrued $24M of deferred maintenance and liabilities."
The Facts:
This building was purchased in 2002 reportedly to serve as a security buffer for an adjacent Secret Security Headquarters for approximately 1.8 million and sold in 2024 – BD – for 4.138 million. The $24m for deferred maintenance and liabilities were simply booked estimates, but not actual expenses representing a gross gain of ~$2.33m. Not sure what the net gain/loss was, but either way – all of this happened well before DOGE.
A repost of USDA Secretary Rollins post on X states, " Look what we just found (and cancelled!): $324,671 grant for “Increasing DEIA Programming for Integrated Pest Management” … you can’t make this up🤦🏻♀️"
You don’t need to make this up – IPM is a real an important concern. I’m not sure exactly what secretary Rollins is referring to, since her post is rather vague, but this site explains recent IPM DEIA programming. https://www.northeastipm.org/about-us/publications/ipm-insights/recipients-of-regional-ipm-centers-deia-funding/
Fun facts:
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a comprehensive approach to pest control that emphasizes the use of various strategies and practices to minimize pest populations while reducing the impact on the environment and human health. The goal of IPM is to manage pest damage by the most economical means and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment. This involves a combination of techniques such as biological control, habitat manipulation, modification of cultural practices, and the use of resistant varieties. Pesticides are used only when necessary and their application is targeted to minimize exposure and risk.
Example Programs: IPM is critical to food security, and networks of collaboration and partnership are key to successful implementation of IPM. CABI is an international, intergovernmental, not-for-profit whose mission includes “improving people’s lives worldwide by providing information and applying scientific expertise to solve problems in agriculture and the environment.”
